Chippewa Cree Tribe TANF and
Stone Child College Partnership

Chickadee and the Chippewa Cree TANF program, along with Stone Child College, collaborated in January 2024 to develop educational videos for the TANF families and Stone Child College students/community.

In this video, Elaine Topsky, Director of the Chippewa Cree Tribe's Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) program, describes the scope and purpose of the project. She speaks her first language, Cree, for the first 2 1/2 minutes before switching to English.

Developing educational videos and modules

Chickadee returned in May to obtain translations and imagery for inclusion in the short videos that will be edited. We will return to share what has been created. Preserving Cree language and information about their way of life is a crucial concern of this community.

The videos contain protected information and will be available only within the community.
